Job Description

Requirements for the position:

Education: Essential diploma and specialization in Logistics/Supply Chain.

Experience: 

  • At least 2 years’ Experience with INGO on Humanitarian Logistics and Supply chain.
  • Desirable Experience with MSF in the same field of supply Chain or Commercial companies specialized in integrated Logistics and supply chain.
  • Experience on Transport and Customs clearance is mandatory.

Languages: Essential: Arabic and English languages are essential.

Others: 

  • Strong knowledge of Inventory and stock management.
  • Strong knowledge of Syrian market on both pharmaceutical and other high valued items and Noon Food Items (NFIs).
  • Computer literacy, (words, excel, PowerPoint, outlook) is mandatory.

Place of work: Damascus, Syria

Level: 7 - Service Agreement for 2 months, renewable.

Main objectives:  

  • Organizing and supervising the daily supply chain activities and the teams associated, in the coordination or project level, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure the optimal running of the mission.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

 

  • Responsible for the back-order monitoring and follow up for order status on pipeline, purchased and deliveried to the field within the procurement lead time.
  • Perform market survey for general vendors for recurring procurement and high-value items (equipments, construction materials, watsan materials, non-food item kits, etc.) in commercial hubs and establish long-term agreements when applicable.
  • Participate with the medical team in the process of pre-qualification on medical vendors.
  • Together with the line manager, obtain information on importation procedures into the country and identify customs clearance agencies for potential engangement in future importation.
  • Responsible for stock management and replenishment criteria for consumables under monthly or quarterly consumptions.
  • Maintain updated supply chain database in the logistics software and the online Sharepoint folders.
  • Maintain good supplier relationship with MSF, ensuring better colloaboration, value for money and ethical procurement practice with the vendors.
  • Ensure the procurement for goods and services are conducted according to MSF standard procurement and Supply Chain guidline.
