The Project Assistant will play a key role in supporting the successful implementation and monitoring of GRI’s multi-sectoral programming in Northwest Syria. This includes assisting with activity coordination, community engagement, documentation, reporting, and administrative support. The role requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized individual capable of working in a dynamic humanitarian environment.
Assist in coordinating day-to-day project activities under the supervision of the Project Manager
Facilitate field-level planning, beneficiary selection, and community engagement sessions
Ensure timely delivery of project inputs and support field logistics when needed
Maintain close communication with local partners, authorities, and community stakeholders
Collect field-level data and beneficiary feedback in coordination with MEAL staff
Support the preparation of internal reports, donor updates, and success stories
Organize and archive project documentation including attendance sheets, distribution lists, and photos
Contribute to monitoring missions and ensure proper use of data collection tools
Coordinate training sessions, awareness campaigns, and community meetings
Support procurement and supply chain processes (e.g., preparing PRs, checking deliveries)
Assist with travel planning, accommodation booking, and logistics coordination for field teams
Ensure compliance with GRI’s procurement and finance procedures
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Development, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years working with an NGO or international organization in a project or admin support role
Languages: Fluency in Arabic; professional working knowledge of English is essential
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Familiarity with digital data collection tools is an asset (e.g., Kobo, ODK)
Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Duration: 6 months, renewable based on performance and funding
Reports to: Project Manager – Syria Program
Salary: Commensurate with GRI’s salary scale and candidate experience
