Description

MAPs is a Syrian-led organisation that empowers Syrian returnees, refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) by addressing their needs and long-term challenges. It operates in three countries: Türkiye, Syria and Lebanon. MAPs support Syrians and host communities operating in education, health, shelter, livelihoods, and innovation and development. MAPs provides youth and their families with safe, dignified shelter, quality education, vocational training, economic empowerment, youth engagement, social cohesion, and sustainable relief to empower families as units not only as individuals. Families then transform from dependency into self-reliance productive units who support their networks, communities and beyond. After the liberation of Syria, MAPs activities to cover most of the governorates in Syria. All of them are focusing on the new demands, peacebuilding on top of them, to reform the Syrian fragmented social fabric. MAPs further support youth, women, and girls not only in becoming economically and socially independent, but also in participating in peacebuilding, acting as change agents, and shaping their narratives and public policies in collaboration with the government and the community.
